Q: What is the difference between our “browning” and “intense” beds?
A: Our “browning” beds use bulbs that have a high ratio of UVA light. It is a longer, safer ray that works on the deeper layers of your skin where natural melanin is found. You will achieve a longer lasting, darker tan by using these beds.
Our “intense” beds emit UVB light. The bulbs are just like the natural sun that you are exposed to outside. You should see the immediate effect of this type light because these bulbs focus on the top layer of your skin. Just like the natural sun exposure, your true tan will begin to fade in a day or two. Tanners should be sensible with your tan times in these beds because you can sunburn in them.
When building your base tan, it is recommended that your first five sessions that you tan in a “browning” bed before trying the “intense” beds. For those who use either intense or browning all of the time, try switching to the opposite bed every few sessions. You’ll be amazed at the boost it will give your color just from mixing it up!
